Vlookup - Preserve carriage return (Alt + Enter)

I need help with the Vlookup function.
My problem is that I have a cell that I need to lookup, and the corresponding cell that it finds from the lookup function has some text followed by line break (which is made by Alt+Enter) followed by some other text. When I do a vlookup function, the cell that is returned does not preserve the line break. Can anybody help me solve the problem? Thanks.

Try formatting the cell with vlookup. Under the alignment tab select >wrap text
