    Question Pivot Table Restrictions

    Hello~

i've never really found a 'right' answer for this. i'm living in a world of manual spreadsheets... it's more like a nightmare... regardless, i have to put together overtime calculations using a pivot table (why??? because, that's the way it's always been done... and nobody likes change!) Regardless, i'm only 1/2 way through the year and have over 29,000 lines of data. I'm able to see some of the data as far down as line 25,000 in my pivot table... but i'm missing the folks in the 29k range...

and for the question... is there a restriction to the lines of data for pivot tables? i thought it was like 9k or something???

    Thanks!!
    Lori

There are limits to the number of unique entries per field in a pivot table, as stated on these sites:

    Excel 2003: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...992911033.aspx

    Excel 2007: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...ksheetWorkbook

It looks like 32K is the limit for 2003, and 1+ million for 2007.
