    Retrieving Value From Another Wksht

    I have 3 worksheets.

Each worksheet has 2 columns. Column 1 is rank and column 2 Name.

If I want to prepare a summary of this information in wksht 1. How would I do a lookup and retrieve function so that when a name in wksht 1 matches a name in the other wkshts that it would retrieve the rank from column 1.

Essentially, this is what I am looking for on the summary sheet, everything in column A is already completed:

    Column A B C D
Name Rank Wksht 1 Rank Wksht 2 Rank Wksht 3
    Dan 3 6 4
    Mary 6 2 8

Have a look at the Vlookup function in Excel help...
Where there is a will there are many ways.

I don't think this is exactly what I was looking for. I had already tried that function but was not getting the right value to return.

Then maybe post an actual workbook showing what you want to get done.
