Taking info from 1 spread sheet to another

I have a problem and hope someone on this site will be able to help?

On 1 spread sheet I have a list of Advisors and an errors they have made

    Ie

    USER Date Reason

    RM 04/08/08 not input name
    RM 05/08/08 incorrect address
    ST 01/08/08 wrong DOB
    EL 05/08/08 criminal act
    RM 06/08/08 wrong DOB

Is the any formula that I use to look up the user and then copy all of the other info across to a 2nd spreadsheet?

I hope this is clear if not I will try and explain further.

    Many thanks in advance

Hi thank you for the reply. I am aware of filters but I would like this do be done automatically and from another workbook not in the same workbook. Something like a lookup but I am totally lost. I will make up a couple of workbooks later to show what I mean.

Sorry if I am not descibing this very well.

    ..

    What about using chains?

You can tell your document to get the value imported from another location on the computer, and pinpoint exactly what page, row and coloumn you want imported. It works with text too.

in terms of linking spreadsheets, you can check this youtube vid out and that will show you how to link more than one spreadsheet and it will auto update and everything.

If you already know the formulas you need simply put them into excel and use the tutorial on youtube to link the info.

    Ok,

I have attached 2 spreed sheet, Test 1 and test 2

What I am wanting to do is to get the info from test 1 to test 2. As you can see the tabs on Test 2 have the names of the advisors on each tab.

Is there any way to search test 1 and then bring the info over automatically?
