    Difficulties

Basically, I want a way of making one cell equal something only when another cell is a specific value.

    For example, if I entered X into B7 I would want it so D7, F7, H7, J7 and R7 would also become X.

It's a distance spreadsheet for highway accidents, every column representing 100 metres. If an accident occurs at one point, I need a marker 200m, 400m, 600m, 800m and 1 mile away.

    Apologise for poor wording.

    Hi,

Please read the rules on posting and amend your heading to your question to something more meaningful

To answer your question, put this in D7 then copy it to the other cells

    =IF($B$7="X","X","")
