    Finding the Max Number

Not sure if I'm having one of those days already but, I want to find out to show the Max number between a set of different cells.

I have a report which show different information. I want to take certain cells and find out what the max number would be...

An example of where they are set out is

    C12
    F12
    I12
    C24
    F24
    C36
    F36

I thought =MAX(C12,F12 and so on would work but I end up with error

    Where I gone wrong?

Are you using VBA for this because you have posted in the Programming Forum?
    Hope that helps.

Works for me OK up to a maximum of 30 individual ranges?

    =MAX(C12,F12,I12,C24,F24,C36,F36)

Error values or text that cannot be translated into numbers cause errors
