How do I find data in a table based on an input cell?

I am wondering if there is anyone out there who would be willing to help me out on a simple spreadsheet. I haven't worked in excel in a long time, my husband is in paramedic school and they cram information at them - with three kids and me full time its hard for him to study. He is in a pharmacology module now and needs a more productive way to study the meds.

I thought if one worksheet he filled in with the drugs and stats and a second worksheet he filled in the drug, then what he thought the answers were. he could click a button and it would pull in the rest of the drug info for him to check against.

I could probably figure this out and re remember what i used to know but he needs a study tool quickly. Is there any kind person out there that could help me set this up and email it to me, please? I am attaching.......

    Hopefully it attached....

Please take a moment or two to review the forum rules about thread titles. The fact that you're asking a question implies you need help.

I will modify it for you on this occasion since it's your first post. In addition we don't need all the background. You are perfectly entitled to ask a question irrespective of one's personal history.

I'm returning the workbook with the first couple of results filled in. You need a VLOOKUP formula as indicated. In addition what you don't need is for the drug to be filled in, in cells E11, E14, E17, etc. it's sufficient to have just one occurrence in E8. The VLOOKUP uses the range named 'Data'

    wbeck5,

See the attached workbook "Data Filter Advanced Filter with Critera and Extract ranges and Command Buttons - wbeck5.xls"

Add more data to the "Data" sheet.

Then click on the "Filter Criteria" sheet.

With cell A3 blank, click on the "Filter List" button.

To clear the Extract Area click on the "Clear List" button.

Enter into cell A3 "Ephinephrine", click on the "Filter List" button.

See columns N and O, for testing examples.

    Hope this helps.

    Have a great day,
    Stan
