Question about IF function

I'm having trouble using the IF function, which I think is what I should be using for what I want to do.

Column O has numbers. Column Q will have either of the following three things: the letter w, the letter l, or nothing. It's in Column S that I want a formula that will show one of the following: if Column Q has a "w", Column S will = Column O. If Column Q has an "l", Column S will have the negative of Column O (0-Column O). If Column Q has no data, then Column S will be empty.

Can anyone help me with this? I can post the worksheet if it's necessary.
