    Multiple Results for VLookUp

My name is Bob and I'm looking to create a product search for my company because the one we currently use is awful.

VLookUp only gives a single result (the 1st result excel finds). What i would ideally like to do is look up the word "Part" in all my product descriptions and have all the product Descriptions with their Item #'s appear in a "list"

(I've tried using the SMALL function within the VLookUp to avoid getting the same 1st result that excel finds, but I'm not sure if it's possible to combine these 2 functions OR maybe i just haven't been able to figure it out.)

If you could help me out, I would really appreciate it.

    Thank you for your time,
    Bob

See the attached for a suggested solution...

Enter just the partial text in E9 (without asterisks) then formula in E10 counts how many items contain that word...

the formulas in G9L:H20 extract relevant matches....

These are array formulas and were confirmed in G9 and H9 with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER keys pressed at the same time, then copied down the columns...

If you adjust formulas in G9 and H9 you need to reconfirm with those CSE keys before copying them down...

Can you please be more specific. The spreadsheet you attached has two lists in sheet1. G8:H20 and K8:L15.You want to do a look from where to where i.e, which list is your source and which list should contain the result, based on E9

Wow, NBVC that was very impressive.

    Thank you so much.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, I consider myself to be very decent with excel. I really like it and I constantly am looking for new functions at work to figure out. Do you have any suggestions of sources to check out that could help me improve? (I just discovered this forum within the past couple of days and not even sure if there's a list of functions on this site itself) I'll usually just stumble across a new function and try to figure it out from there. Yesterday I was just introduced to modules which look confusing but not impossible. I would appreciate any information whatsoever.

Thank you sooo much for helping me out. I really appreciate it.
