Conditional formatting with percentages

Hello

Hoping someone can help me. I'm trying to set up conditional formatting based on how close an actual is to a target. For example if I had a target figure of 70% in A1 and actual figure of 70% or above in A2 then I would want green. If it was within 10% i.e between 60% and 70% then amber and 0% to 60% would be coloured red.

The only figures in my spreadsheet are the target and actual percents. I want to try and include the rest as a conditional formatting formula.

Hi,
go to Format - Conditional formatting, and use the drop down boxes ( containing "equal to", "equal to or greater than", etc..)and value to define your first format.
Next click on the "add" button and enter as needed.

Thanks for your reply but I may not have made myself clear enough as to what I wanted to achieve.

The target % could vary from time to time, but I always want the actuals to be coloured amber if they are within 10% of the target, and red if more than 10% out of the target.

Hope this makes it a bit clearer.
