i have a text field that has last name, first name and an id number.
all of this data is in the same cell.
i want to take the id number from this cell, and paste it into an adjacent cell. The id number takes up the last 9 or 10 spaces in the cell.
is this something i could do in a formula or would i need to use vba?

Is there a space before the ID number? If so try
=TRIM(RIGHT(A1,10))
