I"m attempting to generate a sum total of a column that has Credit and Debit transactions. There is a column (see attached) labeled Credit/Debit with the abbreviation of CR or DR in each row. Is there a IF Function or equation that could be used to separate the numbers in separate columns to obtain sum total? Please, help.

Welcome to the forum, in H2 put this
=IF(G2="CR",F2,"") and auto-fill down, and in I2
=IF(G2="DR",F2,"") and auto-fill down
