Convert text to numbers

in excel 2003,
i have some data that i pasted from a web based report which contains a column of numbers.
i would like to be able to sort by number, but the numbers are not treated as numbers. Is there a sure fire way of changing this data type?



included with this post is a sample of the data i am trying to convert to numbers.

Your data has non-breaking spaces before and after the numbers.

Select the cells and do Edit > Find, and in the Find What box,

-- Press and hold the Alt key

-- on the NUMERIC keypad, type 0160

-- Replace All

=VALUE(SUBSTITUTE(A1,CHAR(160),""))
