Help for a beginner?

I have a spreadsheet containing details of dates/times and phone numbers sorted by dates.

On a second separate worksheet I have the numbers and another column of who wons the numbers.

I want to create a formual on a new column in the first worksheet to scan the numbers on the second and populate a new column with the owners names.

I am struggling with the right formula. VLOOKUP is not working unless the formual is more complicated than I understand??

As you said, the right formula is VLOOKUP.

Your problem might be occurring because you're not fixing the references on the second argument or because you're not putting a FALSE in the last argument.

If you attach your workbook it would be easier to help you out.
