Question Problems creating a Pivot Table

I am trying to create a Pivot Table in Excel 2003. When I reach the 'Layout' step the range will only go to column 'X'. The worksheet columns go up to 'BK'. I tried to type the range in and received this error "The Pivot Table field name is not valid. To create a Pivot Table report, you must use data that is organized as a list with labeled columns." All of my columns are labeled. I use Pivot Tables all the time. I can't figure out how to fix this.
