Yes, using SUBTOTAL() function
See that function in Excel help
e.g
=Subtotal(9,A1:A100) will sum visible cells in A1:A100
=Subtotal(3,A1:A100) will count visibil cells in A1:A100

I can't believe it is that simple, thank you! Note: i also found you can copy/paste special/validation, it is a longer process.

Go to the first post
Click edit
Click Go Advanced
Just below the word Title you will see a dropdown with the word No prefix.
Change to Solved
Click Save
