Hello all,
I'm hoping someone can help an excel newbie by showing me a formula for the following situation.
When an employee starts with the company their flexi balance is 00:00 hh:mm.
An employee can acrue up to 44 hours and 24 minutes 'flexi build' by building up flexi time through working say half an hour of a 1 hour lunch [up to a maximum of 22 hours and 12 minutes, due from the business to the employee].
Before building any flexi time [e.g from day one] the same employee can take up to 22 hours and 12 minutes leave which is then owed back to the business and must be worked back by starting early/working late or working a half hour lunch.
To clarify: from 00:00 - if you work 22 hours and 12 minutes of your lunches, you can then take 44 hours and 24 minutes off on flexi leave [22:12 built plus 22:12 owed].
I'm looking for a formula that shows the running balance of either hours owed to the employee or hours due to the business, hours owed to the employee being a positive number and hours due to the employer being negative.
Using hh:mm and 00:00 as the starting point - in column A would be the flexi built or owed by the employee
In column two the running balance (+ve for employee has 22 hours and 12 minutes or more to take from the business or -ve, employee has 22 hours and 11 minutes or more to give to the business).
In column C is maximum allowance.
I really hope I've explained this properly. As I said I'm quite new to this.
On a separate note. I saw your welcome new members forum when registering however can't find it now [this may give an insight into my navigating powers]!
