    Filtering on calculated data

    Hi folks,

Hope someone might be able to shed some light on a filtering problem I have.

I want to filter on a column of data that has been calculated using the NETWORKDAYS function to determine the number of days between two dates. I use the custom filter for getting records where the number of days is less than or equal to 15. This works fine the first time it is used, but subsequently it returns no records. Frustratingly this works OK on my PC and only became apparent on a few other PCs used for testing.

I've attached a subset of the worksheet to illustrate the problem. Column A contains the calculated days, and I've added Col D which are straight values only. The filter works fine on this column.

If anyone has any idea why this is not working and/or a possible work-round, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!

    Steve

It seems to work ok with me.

Maybe you can try giving the Holiday range a name via Insert|Name|Define and then use that in the formula instead... that may be causing the problem.. but am not 100% sure...

Thanks for that, unfortunately this hasn't solved the problem. Interesting that you got it to work - seems to be a prob that occurs with some computers and not others.

Problem solved! Some PCs using this spreadsheet did not have Analysis Toolkit installed. This now works perfectly on everybody's machine.

By the description of your problem... i.e. you said after filtering it goes bad and the first time is okay.. I wouldn't have mentioned the Analysis Toolpak. Not having the analysis toolpak would return #NAME error. If you had mentioned that, then it would have been a great clue.
