Comparing values from different sheets and inserting value from same row

I have a database of temperatures sorted chronologically on sheet 2 column A = dates, column B = temperature. I have certain dates on sheet 1 that correspond to dates of events. How can I insert the temperature based on sheet 2 (temperature database) that correspond to the date of the event.
