    is there a function for reverse sine?

    im using excel as a giant calculator for a string of extremly complicated equations and i ran into a problem when doing some triganometry. i need to use an equation to get the angle of a triangle, i've got the sine of the angle but i need to get the angle itself, modern calculators have it as the alternate function of the sine button. it may have a different name but ill attach a picture of it since i dont know enough forum code to write it properly.

    the equation im try to use is this if you wanted to know.

    Sin(a) / A = Sin(b) / B

    where i know the angle a, the lengths A & B and im trying to find the angle b.

    Welcome to the forum.

    The Excel function is ASIN()
    Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate

    Just to add a bit of context, finding the angle when you know the sine is the inverse function (rather than reverse), and the real-world name of the function is arcsine.
