    Date ranges

    Say I have a spread sheet (sheet 2, in this case) with column A representing a begin date and colum B representing an end date and column C with the value I want returned when a date on a seperate sheet falls within the A:B ranges.

    Sheet 1 has the date I want to becompared to in Column A:B. I want the value in column C returned to sheet 1 on condition the date falls witin the date ranges in columns a:b.

    How would I go about constructing the formula to return the value in column C to sheet 1?

    I hope I'm being coherent enough - please help.

    Much appreciated - thanks.

    Re: Date ranges.

    =SUMIF('Sheet2'!A:A,">="&A1,'Sheet2'!C:C)-SUMIF('Sheet2'!B:B,">"&B1,'Sheet2'!C:C)

    where A1&B1 in Sheet1 have dates to look for in Columns A and B of Sheet2
    Where there is a will there are many ways.
