    Customizing opening warning

    Hi,

Please I have a file that I developed for staff details. I am not the only user and there are a lot of formulars in the file. What I want to do is to create a sort of guideline on how to use the file such that whenever it is opened, the guideline will appear and after reading, the user can now click ok to use the file.

Secondly, I want to password the file except one cell that is validated.

Please can anyone help me on how to achieve these?

    Thanks.

    Re: Customizing opening warning

Best way i found to inform the user at start up, is to use a simple userform splashscreen. refer attached example file. However be aware this will require macros to be enabled on opening to work, As it is triggered by a workbook open event (refer event code in workbook module)

As for 1 cell un-protected. Lock all cells on the sheet/s you want to protect (refer cells>format>properties) with the exception of the cell in question then protect the sheet/s (refer Tools > worksheet protection)
