    How to display data of the most current date

    Hi everyone,

    I have a sheet that contains a date coulumn, and a few data columns. I would like generate a report that shows the most current data available. This may or may not be the current date. Thank you in advance for your speedy reply.

    Hello

    When you say report I'm not too sure what you need but I think if you wanted to identify the most recent date then you could use the MAX formula. So assuming the date is in column A the formula =MAX(A:A) would give you the most recent date.

    Max will kick out 12/31/10. That is not the most current date data available.

    Max will kick out 12/31/10. That is not the most current date data available
    In Excel, real dates are serial numbers, thus the MAX function will always find the latest date. Seems you have populated the table with dates for which no data yet exist.

    Perhaps your needs are best served by uploading a sample workbook.
