Sumproduct or countif with multiple criteria

HI I have a list of data in 2 columns and I want to count the number of times "NA" occurs when the corresponding column in also "NA"

I had a countif function before I needed to add the corresponding column data.

In the example.xls I need to count the total number of NA's in column Q but only if column 0 in the corresponding position is also NA.

Thanks worked a treat. But now can I ask it to count anything other than NA ie: is not NA

There is no need for the leading +, this is Excel not Lotus
