compare rows to identify and tag any that are the same

    Hi,

In excel 2007 I have a simple football tipping database, what I want to do is once I enter everyones tips in for the 8 games each week, I want it to show which people have the same 8 tips for that week in one way or another. either by strikeout of the text or an asterisks next to their name or both. This will quickly identify who has the same tips and therefore cannot win for that week.

NOTE:- in the cells there is text such as CAR which is short for CARLTON and BRI - short for Brisbane etc etc

See the attachment for a sample of what I am trying to acheive.

I hope someone can help me

    Cheers

Here's one way. I've added the conditional formatting to strikethrough the match cells in the table, but instead of an asterisk, I put the actual name of the person that got duplicated to make it easy to spot when there are multiple duplications.

Some key columns added to the right of the table make the calcs easy. You can hide those columns if you wish.
