Assigning 4 numbers to each line

Okay... My wife is volunteering for our school and needs a hand.

    I have a list of students (A4:A266).

    In Column H I need to assign 4 numbers (eg. H4 would contain 000 001 002 003, H5 would contain 004 005 006 007)

Is there an easy way to populate this?

To throw in a twist, there are some that may some students skipped. (continuing eg. H6 may not have any numbers and H7 would continue with 012 013 014 015).

    Thoughts?

    Welcome to the forum.

Use a separate cell for each number.

WOW! Sometimes I can't see simplicity!! I am trying to make it work with vlookup array and concatenate... Maybe an offset?

Yeah... a separate cell for each worked wonderfully.
