    Counting

I have 2 columns. 1 column with items and 1 with the number 1 as a count.

The items may have several of the same item. I would like to be able to count the total of items.

    Example

    Col1 Col2
    Blue Glass 1
    Blue Glass 1
    Red Glass 1
    Green Glass 1
    Red Glass 1
    Blue Glass 1
    Black Glass 1

I would like to have a count that says:

    Blue Glass 3
    Red Glass 2
    Green Glass 1
    Black Glass 1

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thank you in advance

    Re: Counting

    Assuming column-A holds the item:

    =COUNTIF($A$1:$A$100,"Red Glass")

Adjust the formula for each "glass".

However, A pivot table work well for this.
