Lookup to find smallest instead of largest value

    Excel 2003

The following formula works perfectly for one thing I need to, which is find the most current date (largest) in a range of date entries for a piece of equipment.

Now what I need it to do is find the oldest (smallest) date in that same range for another report:

Would appreciate some help with this one.

You could use this array formula

    =MIN(IF(('Work Orders'!$D$3:$D$2000=$C3)*('Work Orders'!$J$3:$J$2000<>""),'Work Orders'!$F$3:$F$2000))

    confirmed with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER

custom format result cell as d/m/yy;; to suppress zero values if there are no matching dates
