    macro button disappearance

    Hello Guys,

I have come to a halt with my macro assigned button in one of my spreadsheets. This is a template in excel 2000 with many macros and buttons all just taking you to different locations on the spreadsheet (all within one sheet). Macros are being stored in the template and in the master spreadsheet itself it desappear after pasting the template in. I have also data validation in there and whenever I chose from it this one button desappeare.

Can this be connected to the fact that this macro is being written in the editor as the last one? All the other buttons stay where they were supposed be.

If you have any idea please let me know.

    Thanks
    Simon

    Re: macro button disappearance

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!
    Hope that helps.

    Re: macro button disappearance

    Hello Roy,

Thank you for your attention. The thing with an example is that it does not happen in there. Also in my template it is ok. I have also protected the sheet for objects and scenarios but it did not help. In my master file the template is being called in by another macro and being pasted into the workbook. It is purely because each sheet is a different week. when I have pasted it for the first time it was OK and the first sheet works fine. But when I paste a new one it starts to playing up.

In that worksheet I have got about 40 buttons that takes me to each day for each robot (as it is analisys for robots availability) and they work fine. It only the one that takes me to overview that keeps making jokes on me. by each day I have a data validation table (little one - to choose which shifts were working during each day). And when I want to choose from that table that button moves there.

I am sorry but I cannot put an example as it is not working and the master file is 17MB. even the template is 4.5MB. If anybody has ever come across that kind of problem in the past and know how to overcome it please give me a clue.

    Thanks

I have been trying to attach a zip file of 2.8MB but coldn't

It keeps showing Database Error message.

I don't think I can upload it then at all.

Unless anyone knows what shall I do to make it happen.

    Thanks
    Simon
