Need Help displaying percentages in Pivot Table by category not row/column

It seems I'm having issues attaching the excel file due to a database error telling me I either do not have sufficient privileges or my account has been disabled . I'll get it posted as soon as I can. Sorry!

    Hello all -

I have a pivot table problem that I need assistance with. I have a spreadsheet with an associated pivot table that is displaying counts for a unique item called "Seasoned Agent". N indicates a Non-Seasoned Agent while S indicates a Seasoned Agent. What I'm trying to do is display the numbers as percentages for each heading and month, not for the entire row or column.

For example, for the first column, Binding Script Compliance, we had 31 for N and 219 for S for a total of 250. What I want to see is what percentage of 250 the 31 N's represent for January and what percentage of the 250 the 219 represents. This will be the same for the other columns and months.

I've attached a sample spreadsheet showing the data I'm working with.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Nick!

Re: Need Help Displaying Percentages within Pivot Table

    Hi Nick,
You need to "Go Advanced" (just to the right of "Post Quick Reply") and click the paper clip icon above the message box. If the file is too big to upload you will fail. You may need to give us a sample instead of the whole thing.

We need to know what version of Excel you are using. If you could update your profile it would show on each post.

If you are trying to do percentages in a pivot table that has some text (instead of numbers) it may not give you that option. Look for text in the data and change it to numbers. Hope that helps.

Sorry about that. I tried to edit it to be more descriptive with the limited space as I'm really unsure how to describe what I'm trying to accomplish. I finally got the spreadsheet to attach as well.
