    Formula using 2 sources from a chart/matrix

I have created a file with 2 tabs. Tab 1 allows the user to enter some information which drives the result from tab 2. Tab 2 has a chart with gram weights ranging from 1.0 to 10.0 in column A and quantity of mold cavities (1, 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 24, 32, 48, 64, 72, 96) in row 1. It is a simple chart/matrix where each gram weight and mold cavities drives a different result.

My question is how do i write a formula in Tab 1 allowing it to automatically pull the result from tab 2? For example, the user enters part weight "2.0" and "24" mold cavities in two separate cells in Tab 1 and the result from the chart/matrix should automatically enter in a third cell on tab 1.

    thanks! JS

It sounds as though an INDEX/MATCH approach should suffice.

It's not clear if the values should always be an exact match or find last value on axis <= criteria (this we will assume)
