Average daily spending over month

I've tried finding a solution to this particular problem and have not found an exact fit.

I have a list of transactions from a checking ledger - with date, credits and debits. There are multiple transactions per day and, in some cases, no transactions.

I want to find the average daily spending amount for a given period (typically a month.)

Named ranges include:
tlogdate = transaction dates
tlogins = credits
tlogouts = debits
startdate = period start date
enddate = period end date

I've tried combinations of average, averageif, sumif / countif, sumproduct to no avail. Any suggestions?

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!

Sounds like the perfect job for a Pivot Table [see link in sig. for intro]
(you might want to add a Calculated Field re: Credits & Debits balance)

Please find a sample worksheet that represents the data set.

I'd like to avoid a pivot table and, instead, have a cell that provides the Average Daily Spending Amount that I can carry over to a 'Budget' worksheet.
