Auto fill cells based on the data in another cell

I am not experienced enough with formulas to figure this out:
My problem is I would like to have a sheet that if I type (or use drop down) a teacher's name, in another cell his/her code number (15 digits) would automatically fill. The sheet will have multiple teacher's names and multiple times the names will be selected.
Ex.
Joe Smith 000 384 384129900
Mary Johns 100 422 485721900
Joe Smith 000 384 384129900
Ron Blair 020 311 098482934

Hopefully, this is a somewhat easy process and would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks also Jeff! I have read through the link you posted. Unfortunately, I don't have a thorough knowledge of the Vlookup function and what it can do. I will be referring back to it though as I get more experience.

Thanks a lot. from last few hours, i was looking for it. i just exchange two cell to generate the name of workers by their ID card number.
