    pulling out minimum and maximum values..!

    hi all..!
    everyday i am entering value of a product of different weights.
    Weight in Col A - Value in Col B - Date in Col C like as under:
    10 1000 01/01/2011
    20 1500 01/01/2011
    30 2500 01/01/2011
    40 3000 01/01/2011
    50 4000 01/01/2011
    10 800 02/01/2011
    20 1600 02/01/2011
    30 2000 02/01/2011
    40 3100 02/01/2011
    50 3900 02/01/2011
    what i am want is as soon as i updated the
    value and date i should get the min and
    max value particulars for all the weights
    in some other cells say D2:H6
    like as under
    Weight - Min Value - Min Value Date - Max Value - Max Value Date
    any help please..!

    i think that pivot table is not the solution.
    in your pivot table minimum value for weights
    10 & 30 is actually on 2/1/2011..!

    any other work sheet function or VB Code
    may be required..!

    see attached, however, note use of Dynamic Named Range as source so as to unnecessary overheads re: excess range

    DonkeyOte - I am crushing my excel spreadsheet with "maxif" arrays.

    I am trying to understand the concept on naming a dynamic named range but can't quite grasp it. can you explain to me what the match piece of this dynamic name range does? =aaaa!$A$2:INDEX(aaaa!$C:$C,MATCH(9.99E+307,aaaa!$C:$C))
