Creating a new value by adding certain length of values from 2 or more cells. HELP!

Hi All

This is my first post at ExcelForum.com. I just started using Excel and have Excel 2010. I am trying to create a little model to teach myself but I have gotten stuck even before the modelling begins. I have attached the file. Please download and have a look.

I would like the ID column (A) to have a formula (I don't know a thing about VB and would like to stay away unless there is just no way....), which will grab details from other cells to form a distinct value.

For example, if It is a SUPPLIER of a PRODUCT from MUMBAI, the formula could give me a value like SUPRMU001, or or if its a SERVICE from MUMBAI, SUSEMU001. And if there is a way to automatically detect the last value and increment this?

Is this even possible? Plus just as far as learning modeling goes, does anyone know of any raw project data resource I could use, instead of creating a question and then answering it.?

But a guiding explanation for the above problem would be awesome.
