Need help with creating a drop down list

I have a list of data that needs to be put in to a drop down list. I remeber in an older version of Excel when i did this, i could create a combo box and then choose the source etc. It seems that excel 2007 is a bit different when doing this.

I've done some searching and it looks like data validation is the way to go in this excel.

The problem is, my data is presented in a format like this, Brazil is BR-Brazil, Argentina is AR-Argentina etc.

I want the drop down to display just the country name, not the stuff before it. Only thing is the data selected in the drop down is used by citrix so needs the BR or AR etc before the country.

Is there a way i can show the user just the country name but actually have the cell value the whole thing?
