Filtering a data table based on multivalue active cell

    Hi

I would like a macro that can filter a data table in one sheet based on the value of an active cell in another. Teh activel cell could contain one or more vlaues separated by carriage returns (char 10) though.

I have uploaded an example sheet to explain what I am after.

I wnat the user ot be able to select a cell in Sheet 2 (e.g. A2) and then run a macro which will automatically make sheet 1 active and filter the table based on the values in teh active cell on sheet 2.

For example, if A2 is selected on sheet 2, I would expect sheet1 to activate and filter the rows to show only A, B and C.

If A4 was is selected on sheet 2, I would expect sheet1 to activate and filter the rows to show only A and C.

Does anyone know how I could do this in a macro? I have seen some macros that hide rows, however I wanted to make use of the filter in the heading row rather than hiding rows.

    Many thanks.

Could do with some tidy-up, but does what you're requesting:

    Thanks very much.

Do you know if there is a way to do something like this in Excel 2003 as well.

    Cheers
