    Search/Find function Excel 2000/2003

    An odd one this.

Say you have a spreadsheet array A1:IV6500 and you have a cell which has ABC123 in it.

Other than hitting the find button is there any formula that would do something like this
    =Search ("ABC123",A1:IV6000)
and return the cell where ABC123 is?

Say it is in DG5432, but you don't know that what I want to be able to do is say I am in cell E6 I want E6 to display the answer after I have entered this formula (whatever it is).

I suspect it is a macro, but no-one has ever told me whether there is anything that will do this.

    Welcome to the forum.

The formula can't be in E6 if the data is in A1:IV6500.

This is not an Outlook question, right? I'll move this to the Excel forum.
