Lightbulb Take Lower Match Value in a Mode Formula

When using the MODE formula, I am trying to take the lower number if multiple values have the same frequency of occurance.

i.e if i have a range of 5 values (1,3,3,5,5) i want it to return the 3 and not the 5. Is there an easy way to do with the MODE formula or any others?

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Re: Take Lower Match Value in a Mode Formula

    Hi,

I do in fact get 3 as the modal value with 1,3,3,5,5 in that order. If I sort on high/low then I get 5. So it appears that where two values have the same modal value Excel prefers the first listed.

    Hope this helps.
