    Vlookup?

    Good afternoon,

I have tried vlookup but just can't get it to do what I want it to so perhaps there is a better way. I have a worksheet with 3 columns. The information in column A and B go together. I want to take the infomation in column C and match it against column B while retaining column B's association with column A. Im using excel 2003

    Any suggestions ?

    Re: Vlookup?

    Try

    =Index(A:A,Match(C2,B:B,0))

where C2 contains first item to match in column B.
Where there is a will there are many ways.
