    Vacation Accrual

    I am trying to create a vacation accrual spread sheet. My problem is I don't know formulas very well. If it is a basic one , no problem.

    Our policy is the following:
    0-1 years - 1 week
    2-10 year - 2 weeks
    10+ years - 3 weeks
    .
    0192 = 40
    .038 = 80
    .058 = 120

    We base our vacation on hours worked with the maximum being 80 per week.
    Can someone help me

    Re: Vac Accrual

    Hi
    it would be very easy to draw up a sheet based on length of service alone, eg if someone has less than 1 year's service they have up to one week's leave. However, it's not clear from your spreadsheet how hours worked enter the equation. How can we tell what hours each person has worked, and how does that affect their leave formula? if people work different hours each week and accrue leave according to hours worked, you would need a time series of hours worked to calculate entitlements.

    A bit more information would help

    Re: Vac Accrual

    Don't use abbreviations like vac in thread titles. Not everyone here has English as a first language
    Hope that helps.

    Re: formulas

    I need to create a formula the will have a min and a maximum amount.

    I have the hours worked times .0192

    for example 1897.20 x .0192 = 36.43. I need it to be a min and a maximum of 40. How would I do this?

    Re: Vacation Accrual

    It doesn't seem your layout has enough information for your task. For one thing, hours worked in a given week is missing. Second, if this is a true accrual sheet, there needs to be an additional column for beginning balance. I'm envisioning something more like the attached:
