2 IF functions and remove bottom 2 cells from a series total

Hi, I'm a bit out of my realm on some of these functions I'm looking to accomplish in the attached workbook for my home poker league. I haven't been here in a while but you guys were a big help when I set up this spreadsheet before. Things have changed and I've been charged with coming up with a new spreadsheet to total our league.

The first sheet in the workbook I'm trying to set it up so when the number of players are entered and the place of the player is entered the function knows to pull the points earned from the table on the right side that tells how many points are earned by the amount of players that played in the game.

The second sheet I'm trying to take the sum of the points column with the bottom 2 points earnings removed. Right now I have it set to only count the top 21 but if there aren't 21 numbers entered it doesn't give the true weighted points with the bottom 2 cells in the series removed.

Thanks in advance - I appreciate any insight if this can be done or if there is a better way to set this up!

    Hi baker2gs,

You said "when the number of players are entered and place of the player is entered... " but where ?
Suggest you to highlight the scenario with one common example.. i.e., you enter player number, you enter place and then which cells get filled with what results and highlight these cells / ranges. Thank

    Regards

Re: 2 IF functions and remove bottom 2 cells from a series total

Hi, sorry I wasn't clear. I would like to be able to enter in the number of players in cell J3, then based on the places manually entered in cells C3-C11 I would like it to calculate based on the table L2-S2. In the case that I have filled in on the spreadsheet it would be looking at the columns P3-P11 since I have 9 players entered in for the value in J3.

Looking at the C3 cell, this player got 9th place with 9 people in the tournament. Ideally I would like the function to look at the J3 cell to see that 9 people are indeed playing, then look at C3 and see that he/she got 9th place so it would know to pull the score from the P column because there are 9 people in the game (as it states in P2) and pull the proper score from cell P11, which is 2, and enter it in cell D3.

In the second sheet I'm trying to get a function where looks at the C3-C26 column and only takes the sum of all but the lowest 2 numbers no matter how many cells are filled. In this case it would omit cell C12 & C13 from the total.

    Thanks for replying!
