    Standings Change

    I am looking for a function that would show changes between 2 columns similar to that in standings in a sports league. For example, column A would list W, X, Y, Z and column B would list X, Z, Y, A, I want column C to list +1, +2, 0, -3. Is there any formula to figure this in bulk? I was hoping there was an function because I have 150 rows in these 2 columns. Thanks in advance for any help I get.

    Try this in C2 (assuming a header row):

    =MATCH(B2,A:A,0) - ROW()

    Then copy down.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Pete. That worked perfect! I had looked around for that forever!
