Question Make Dates format as Dates and Numbers format as numbers

    Hello All.

Right now I have a formula in a cell that will cause the cell to display a date or a number. However, there is a problem because if i choose to format the cell as a number the date displays as a number and vice versa. If I do general it does not format the date correctly. I have tried to use conditional formatting, but this has not worked either. Your help is very much appreciated.

    Thank you.

is there a limit on the numbers? if so you could use an if condition and force formating using the text function.

    A custom format like this

    [>30000]m/d/yy;0.00

will format any number > 30000 as a date but smaller numbers as a number with 2 decimal places - adjust as required based on the number/date ranges that you have
