For the Bradford Factor, you need to also count the number of periods of sickness, as opposed to the number of days' sickness.
This formula will do that:
=SUMPRODUCT(--(E13:E379<>"S"),--(E14:E380="S"))
and copy across.
This will, however, give you two periods of sickness if the individual is off over a weekend, for example, Friday and Monday. That could be a good thing to pick up. Alternatively, you could count the weekend days as Sick days too. It all depends on your sickness payment calculations.
The Bradford Factor is only an indicator of potential sickness issues and each case should be considered in its own right. For example, if someone is off for six weeks, 30 working days, 42 days elapsed, that could simply relate to recovery from an accident or illness.
When you are happy with the calculation of the sickness periods, the BF = Number of Sick Days x Number of Sickness Periods squared.
Hope this helps.
