Formula Excel is not copied over

    Hi

In my Excel workbook I have multiple formual's which I want to copy into other cells. When using ctrl -C and ctrl-V it only copies the outcome (value) of the cell I am copying from but no formula is being copied. For isntance Cell A1 has the following formula = 2*7 so the actual value of the cell is 14. When I copy paste this cell into A2 then A2 only states the number 14 but no formula is being copied. I just installed a new version of Excel (Excel 2010) and somehow the settings appear to be "wrong"but I have no clue where to look.

The only way that usually happens if you choose to Paste Values. In excel 2010 when you copy a formula & right click on the destination cell you should get a pop up to choose how to paste
    Hope that helps.

    Hi Roy

Thanks for your help. I could mouse right click and choose special Paste (which would be a lot of work each time) but even then the issue is there. I can then only choose between unicodetext or text and both do not copy the formula. When I copy the cell the traditional moving doted line does only appears a second around the cell BTW after that it is a solid line around the copied cell

    Hi All.

Did this get solved by anybody?
I have exactly the same problem.
I can drag / fill to right or down and the formula will copy correctly, but copy / paste with the mouse, menu edit copy, menu edit paste or ctrlC or ctrlV will just copy the result.
There is no paste special function either. it does give you a dialogue box where you can choose to paste as text or unicode text on.
I tried repairing from inside the control panel and then from the install disc.

Of note, I did also have an issue with the clipboard saying it could not be emptied, but I found on another forum that was something to do with Win 7 snipping tool.

    Uninstall Skype Click to Call?

I've heard they have a new version that fixes this problem.
