    LOOKUP function??

Hi - i am collecting data from various sequential production batches. For each given batch, i have one entry in each data column, but in different rows. I need to be able to subtract a value from one column / row from another in a different column / row. Cells apart from those with the single data entries are blank. I think i may need the LOOKUP function, but cannot picture how
    Thanks for any advice

Answers to the calculation would be batch 1 (10-2=8), batch 2 (9-3=6), batch 3 (10-4=6)

Put this formula in H2 and copy down:

    =SUMIF(B:B,G4,C:C)-SUMIF(B:B,G4,D:D)
