Possible to Build a List of Action Items?

Would it be possible to design a worksheet to build a list of 'action items' that would be stored as a locked cell? For example, with a series of dropdown lists (A1-JobNo., B1-Assignee, C1-Time to Complete):

    =A1&" - "&B1&" - "&C1&" Day(s)" outputs to "555 - JohnDoe - 10 Day(s)"

What I would like is to have the 3 (or more) input fields with an "Add to List" function/button which adds the output to a separate "list field" elsewhere in sheet/workbook and then clear the original entry fields for more entry.

After that I plan to play around with representing those individual items visually somehow, but one thing at a time.

Thanks for any and all help.

    Cheers.

Yes, this is possible with a macro. Could you please upload a workbook that shows how you imagine the structure will look like and we can help you with the coding.

    Thanks, Abousetta!

Attached is a simple version of the idea.

Have a look at the attachment.

The code in the button is as follows:

    Incredible! Thank You so much!

Now would it be possible to apply the length of job/number of days as some sort of value of the cell so each action item could be represented visually in a schedule? I added another sheet to the book to give you an idea of what I'd like the visual schedule to look like.

I added another input field for start date (didn't want to futz with the code you wrote though). I'm assuming we'd have to assign each column in the schedule with a corresponding date and then do some sort of conditional formatting or chart function?

    ActionItems2.xlsm

I would also be interested in eventually adding a button to the action items list to remove completed tasks from the active list, but would like the visual representation of completed tasks to remain in the schedule.

    Thanks again, man. I can't rep you enough...but I will try. :-)

    Hi,

Sorry I don't understand exactly what you are trying accomplish. Could you break it down for me in a series of steps and how this will look on the Excel sheet.

    Thanks.
