    VLookup

    Hi

I'm trying to create a vlookup formula but i'm just falling short of getting it right.

basically i have 2 excel sheets, on the 1st sheet i have a list of cloth no's, and on the 2nd sheet i have another list on cloth no's along with their respective values

basically i want to extract the values from the 2nd sheet

    so on sheet 1
    a b
    1 469
    2 510
    3 1167

and on the 2nd sheet i have
    a b
    1 469 234.33
    2 510 3678.98
    3 1167 437
    4 1167 345
    5 1167 900

now the formula i use in the 1st sheet column b is =VLOOKUP(A1,'sheet2'!B:C,2,0) which returns the correct value of 234.33 for cloth 469, but when it comes to a3 it only returns the value of 437 where i need it to be 1682

can this be done, i've tried true and false in place of zero, but it also returns the 1st and last value only.

    can anyone help

    many thanks

    Re: VLookup

    You can use SUMIF()

    =SUMIF(Sheet2!A:A,A1,Sheet2!B:B)
