Lookup one table and return matching vaule

    All,

I would appreciate some help with the file attached. I have failed miserably trying to creat a formula to achieve my goal. Although, I have a work around, i want to learn and do it the right way.

Account Position / Account Position Experience
    5555 Stocks / 4444 Bonds E
    4444 Bonds / 3333 Private M
    3333 Private Equity / 2222 None E
    4444 Stocks / 5555 Stocks N
    4444 Stocks N

I am attempting for table A (On the left of /) to look at table B and add the experience to table A by creating column C.

    Thank you!

Hello & Welcome to the Forum,

    Here are two options.

column C formula uses a helper column, column H, and column D formula is an array formula which does not use a helper column but requires Ctrl + Shift + Enter
